A Vital Tool to the World - TB Joshua

Prophets have been a medium of communication between GOD and mankind according to the Old Testament in the Bible. They have ability of knowing the present, past and future events i.e. they have the ability of knowing what is God's opinion about any situation to mankind.

From the Biblical perspective, prophets of God are always a mouthpiece of God and they have been a point of communication between the people of God of old.

But today in our present dispensation, the reverse is the case. For example, if we consider prophets of the old like Samuel, Daniel, Elijah and Elisha etc; Giving by God to the people, they always act as means of communication to the children of God when there is calamity in the land. They seek the face of God through consulting the prophet of that time to know God's opinion about situation of things before embarking on it.

Today in our present day light, the prophet of God "T.B JOSHUA" given to us by God has not been utilized to his fullest as a precious gift to mankind in our own time. He should be listened to, but today they neglect his presence to us all. Instead of accepting and appreciating him as a vital tool to our generation, they criticize him and through that they are blaspheming against God. Many people especially in the country of Nigeria (where he's from), have no regards for him. As it has been said that "a king is never honored in his own land, (country)".

For instance, the situation that happened of recent, when the prophet of God gave a prophecy concerning the Nigerian U-20 team in the just concluded world cup in Egypt to seek the face of God and to receive the grace before the competition commenced properly, but the coach, Samson Siasia neglected him and at the end, he performed woefully. But the Ghanaian U-20 team coach confided in the prophet and everything he told him to do. He did what was God's opinion about the situation of the team. At the end, everything came to pass and they won the trophy.

This is because the coach listened to him with all his heart. Sometimes we can listen to him, but don't take the necessary precautions to avert the situation at that time. God in all ages has spoken through prophets so we can know this mind and usefulness of his mouthpiece to mankind. But why neglect, criticize and blaspheme in our own time?

If the world in our present time could learn to appreciate and accept the man of God "T.B JOSHUA" as a mouthpiece of God, I think God can speak his mind through him as a tool in solving problems for mankind in this present generation.
Even the greatest of all "economic problems" the whole world is facing today, can be resolved through the mouthpiece of God, T.B JOSHUA of our time. If prophets can tell the minds of God and also give what is God's opinion about a situation and can see what the future holds, then why can't this economic situation be averted through him?

Evidently, it is high time we consider him as the world's most valuable tool to mankind in this our present dispensation. If only and only we can give him a little trail than criticizing him, the better our country will be.

The benefits of drinking tea are becoming more widely known with the rest of the world learning what Asian countries have known for years. • Tea contains numerous antioxidants. These help slow down the aging process and can help cells regenerate and repair themselves. Many studies also suggest that antioxidants assist in preventing cancer.

World Cup 2010 Events in South Africa!

South Africa is one of the most diverse and interesting countries in the whole world. It is the one of the most lovely nature and also the people are so kind. South Africa regularly hosts major international sporting events, and since 1994 it has successfully managed some of the biggest events, including the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the 2003 Cricket World Cup, the Women's Cup of Golf, and also the only street race in the A1 GP World Cup of Motosport that's why we can say that South Africa is ready to be the most popular country in the entire world.

Moreover, the 19th Federation of International Football Association World Cup or what we call the FIFA World Cup will take place this coming June 11 to July 11 2010 is the world's biggest single-code sport proceedings and the one of the most/prominent events, will be held in South Africa. There are lots of other events planned in South Africa we can enjoy and bring our family to watch.

South Africa is very lucky because this is the first time, ever, that the biggest tournament of Soccer will be held in Africa. The 2010 FIFA event promises to be the planet's biggest sporting event ever. Glowing over a billion people are anticipated to follow the month long play-offs between the world's top 32 soccer playing nations. How I wish to go there so that I can see this event. Each and every one of the players is prepared to play for the reason that they want to make reputation and conceited that they win this Cup Event.

The World Cup is the most momentous competition in international soccer and is well thought-out by FIFA (Federation International of Football Association), the sport's principal body. The tournament takes place every four years. The previous event was held in 2006 in Germany and Italy won the World Cup.

2010 will be the first time that the concluding tournament will be hosted by an African nation. South Africa is consecrated to be hosting two first-time events - the first FIFA World Cup held on the African continent and the first FIFA World Cup commencement Celebration concert - and I consider these historic events will go a long way towards uniting the people of our rainbow nation in South Africa, as well as further strengthening our relationships with our brothers and sisters on the African continent.

The 2010 opening ceremonial is set for Johannesburg on June 10th. Shakira, John Legend, Angelique Kidjo, Alicia Keys and Black Eyed peas will be performing at the concert in South Africa which will formally open the 2010 World Cup. The concert will also facet harmonious performances by popular African artists and appearance by past and present football mythology.

The concert is a charity movement dedicated to building twenty Football for Hope Centers for public health, education and football across Africa. The final line-up of African and South African artists for the introductory concert will take place at Orlando Stadium on the 10th of June.

While watching the world cup many people will take on bad habits such as smoking and eating junk food. Also many will spend a lot of time in front of the TV set which could be conductive to putting on a lot of weight. Make People Envy Your Slim Body With a Cup of Green Tea

Well here is some good news for you. Green tea is an excellent weight loss herbal tea which is used all around the world for its fat burning properties. People who cannot resist the food they love but also need something to keep them in shape then this is the answer to their prayers. Green tea has been used by Chinese for hundreds of years for health and fitness reasons. Now this tea has become a favorite for every one.

Health experts have studied about how it can improve a person’s physical well being. The benefits of green tea have turned out much more than what was expected. The antioxidants present in the leaves of this tea have multiple effects on the body when it comes to weight loss and fat burning processes. When taken after a meal, the fist thing that works in terms of burning fat is the heat of the beverage. Just the way people drink a cup of hot water to keep tummies in and to melt fat, drinking a hot cup of green tea works down the body melting fat as it travels in.

The next stage begins when it reaches the inside. The antioxidants in green tea increase the ability of cells to absorb oxygen and digest food better. The food is broken down properly into necessary constituents and saturated fats that may be present in your meal in large portions will be separated from the essential elements that are actually required by the body. The saturated fats are drained out of the body through urination and as waste products. The nutrients are retained.

Green tea then ensures that the water in the food you consume is not retained into your body, making you appear plump and swollen like. It uses the water to hydrate your skin, wash your body of waste toxins and make you appear younger and fresher.

The final stage it plays its role at is by making you more active and ridding you off your laziness. Once you are active and the energy levels that you hardly ever experience otherwise are given a boost, you will tend to work more and have an increased activity level which again helps to burn calories. So the benefits involve building up your stamina whether it’s just about exercise stamina or your stamina to stay active for long hours. If you are really into weight loss and losing fat then green tea [http://www.green-tea-health.com] should be your best friend. Only by drinking it every day on a regular basis and taking at least 2 cups a day, you can shed pounds off your body without worrying about what you eat and drink all the time.

Getting Customers - Advertising in the Local Newspaper

You might think that all you have to do is put some advertising in the paper and customers will phone you and suddenly you are in business. After all that is what most other businesses do isn't it? If you do that you will definitely not be making the best use of the advert and quite likely be losing money.

Let me make a few points about a local newspaper advert.

  • A local newspaper advert can be quite expensive. Before you start, telephone your local newspaper advertising department and ask them to send you a rate card to get the exact cost. You may find that the rate card is online.

  • Local newspaper advertising has an extremely short useful lifespan. If you don't get a response within 3 days you will not get one. In fact you are most likely to get a response within 24 hours, if at all. After all, there is nothing more out of date than yesterday's newspapers, and old newspapers quickly end up in the recycle bin. Free newspapers tend to last a little longer (anywhere up to a week), whereas paid for newspapers tend to last 2-3 days.

  • Newspapers cover a large area and you will, therefore, be getting calls from further away than with cards. This can be a good thing when you are looking to expand but can be painful when you start up as you can easily spend more time travelling than you might like.

  • You will get a lower conversion rate from an advert in a newspaper than from customers who have made contact in response to a card. By this I mean that a larger number of your calls will be from customers who decide after talking to you that they do not want or need your services after all. In fact you may get a conversion rate as low as 25%.

  • The newspaper will offer you a range of possible formats for advertising. Lineage is the cheapest and I have found that the simplest wording generally works best. One that I have used often used is: Computer Problems? Hardware or software 0123 456789. I have found that this works as well as advertising that cost 20 times as much.

  • On the other hand display advertising carries more weight and customers think it looks better.

Rule 1 - Count Your Responses

If you are going to use local newspaper advertising you must monitor the responses to different advertising on different days and make decisions on renewal accordingly. If an advert is not bringing you customers, don't be slow to change it or cancel it. After all it is your money.

Rule 2 - How to Increase your Conversion Rate

I have already stated that your conversion rate from a local newspaper advert could be as low as 25%. There is one simple technique that will easily double that conversion rate.

When customers ring you in response to a local newspaper advert then make sure that you get their address as well as their name and phone number. Tell them it is so that you can send them some more information. Almost everyone will do this for you when you tell them this is the reason. You then send them a covering letter and attach one of your marketing cards to it. Make sure that the letter is sent out immediately by first class post. If someone refuses to give you their address then you can be pretty certain that they were only after some free advice anyway. If you wish to, then follow up the letter with a phone call three or four days later. Some of our consultants tend to do the follow up call and some don't. In my business I do not make the follow up call as a rule but if any customers originally requested it then I put it in my diary and I do.

In this way you are certain to at least double your conversion rate. The reasons for this effect are simple. We have already stated that the local newspaper is a throwaway medium and having your card and a letter increases the chance that customers will have your phone number when they need to ring you back. It might be obvious when stated like this but not many businesses seem to do it. Make sure that you do.

Ghana - Winner Nation of African Cup of Nations 2008

There is this inspirational Tanzanian proverb which says: "He, who trusts in God, does not lack anything." Therefore, all patriotic and faithful Ghanaians who trust in God should please rise, face the geographical East, raise their hands towards heaven and sing praise to the Lord; for Ghana, our beloved country is already a winner for merely hosting the 26th Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (Ghana 2008) slated to kick off on Sunday, 20th January 2008.

Beloved humble and noble fellow Ghanaians, in March 2007, when Ghana was celebrating her Golden Jubilee anniversary, President John Agyekum Kufuor, made a very simple but profound statement which must not be taken for granted. He said, "It is a great time to be Ghanaian!" This writer wishes to implore all Ghanaians to pause for just a moment to concentrate, contemplate and meditate on this simple statement by the President as we embark on the next 50 years journey of our nationhood.

On Thursday, 10th January, 2008, the Daily Graphic wrote yet another nationalistic editorial under the heading, "New Era Dawns With Ghana 288." That editorial comment was based on an article, titled "Ghana will gain a lot as host," published on page 16 of that day's issue. The article itself was based on an interview granted the author, Lucy Adoma Yeboah, by the Hon Minister for Information and National Orientation, Mrs. Oboshie Sai Cofie in Accra. The purpose of this review is to encourage the media in Ghana, both print and electronic to emulate the example of the "Daily Graphic" by discussing issues of national interest with some touch of patriotism, especially at this time of the forth coming tournament, no matter what. After all, we have no other nation to call our own. But constructive criticisms are always welcome!

The opening paragraph of the said editorial read: "If there was nothing to be gained from hosting sub-regional, regional and global tournaments, countries would not go to the extent of setting up committees to lobby sporting authorities for the right to host those tournaments."

The next paragraph went on: "Indeed, countries go all out to build new stadias, rehabilitate existing ones, put new infrastructure and build roads, all at great cost, in order to win the right to host tournaments."

The paragraph three stated: "Ghana's hosting of the 26th Africa Cup of Nations tournament cannot be delinked from the benefits that accrue to hosting countries of sporting events."

The paper continued, "It is in this regard that we agree with the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mrs. Oboshie Sai Cofie, that Ghana was already 'the winner of the tournament' for the mere fact of being the host."

The fifth paragraph of the editorial quoted the Minister, thus: "Ghanaians should recognise the fact that we have already won in prestige, revenue generation, in showcasing our beautiful country and its people; we have won because of the fact that our children will grow to acknowledge that their country is considered important in the global environment," Mrs. Sai Cofie said in an interview.

Commenting on what the Information Minister had said in the interview, (see page 16 of Graphic of January 10, 2008), the paper wrote: "These are fine sentiments which the Daily Graphic would want every Ghanaian, male and female, young and old, to share, since they capture the very essence of hosting an international tournament of this nature.

"If for nothing at all," it continued, "The tournament will bring with it commercial and economic gains which will permeate all sectors of the economy, not to talk about the exposure the country will get from TV screening of the matches worldwide, especially the opening and closing ceremonies, the rebranding of the country's image abroad and potential to the outside world."

The paper then gave the following advice: "We at the Daily Graphic can only advise our compatriots to put our best foot forward during the period of the tournament, so that our visitors will have a confirmation of the legendary Ghanaian hospitality, culture and tradition."

Another vital point which Hon Oboshie Sai Cofie made in the interview with Lucy Adoma Yeboah, which, this writer deems imperative to mention here, was that, there was no need for any Ghanaian to feel down-hearted because of one reason or another, "but rather go all out and feel good because the tournament was taking place in Ghana and nowhere else." The Minister advised that people should stop complaining that there was no excitement in the air, adding that it was left for individuals and groups to come together to create the needed excitement.

The Minister further pointed out that the government had played its part by providing the entire necessary infrastructure for a successful tournament, stressing that, "It is left to us as a people to make the best out of the event." As a matter of fact it was stated that an amount of $157.2 million had so far been spent on the rehabilitation and construction of four stadia to host the tournament in the country. It was explained that the amount was said to have been exceeded the $152.1million initially projected by $5.1million.

It was very refreshing when the Finance and Economic Planning Minister, Hon Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, recently stated emphatically in Parliament that it was the Government and for that matter the people of whose money was used to build the modern stadia for the tournament. If you are a Ghanaian and you are not proud of this achievement, then what will you be proud of? Every body knows that the rehabilitated stadia are the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra and the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, while the newly constructed ones re in Tamale and Sekondi. As was promised by the President when the Ohene Djan Stadium was commissioned recently, all the ten regions of Ghana will have a magnificent modern stadium each in due course.

Furthermore, the Information Minister made a very creative suggestion in her interview with the GRAPHIC that, "If for nothing at all, individual and groups should hang national flags on their property and make the right noises in readiness for the tournament." She opined that the issue was not about winning but the need to look at other opportunities that would come along with the tournament.

As a matter of fact, if this tournament were to be taking place in any European country or in Nigeria here in Africa, inspiring and motivating noises would have been on everybody's lips from January to December non-stop. In Ghana, we should be shouting "Ghana, Ghana, And Ghana" and "Black Stars, Black Stars, Black Stars" from now until the hour the covetous trophy is handed over to the winner of the 16 participating African countries.

This author would want to add his voice to those of the Hon Information Minister and the Daily Graphic, which Ghanaians must be proud of being Ghanaians and be grateful and thankful to God that they are Ghanaians There are many nations in Africa and beyond whose citizens wish they were Ghanaians.

With Ghana's oil discovery in commercial quantity within this same period in the history of our beloved country, the sky cannot even be the limit for the prosperity of Ghanaians in the next 50 years. Ghana indeed, is poised to become a glorious land on the continent of Africa. As for Ghana 2008 tournament, we all pray that the gallant Black Stars will lift the trophy at stake. But whether they win or not Ghana Is a Winner by merely hosting the tournament.

2010 World Cup Finals Tickets - How To Get Tickets For FIFA 2010 Finals in South Africa

Being part of a major sporting event is an experience that comparatively few of us experience - but one which lives with us for the rest of our lives. Having traveled in 2006 to the World Cup Finals in Germany, I would strongly recommend going to football's most prestigious tournament if you are lucky enough to get the chance.

Unfortunately, obtaining tickets for the World Cup Finals is easier said than done. The next World Cup will be held in South Africa in 2010. To make the tournament more accessible to the local South African community, FIFA have taken the unprecedented step of making 120,000 tickets available for free to the local people. These tickets will cover all rounds of the competition, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final itself.

Naturally, this greatly reduces the amount of tickets available to the general public, however given that the ten stadiums being used for the tournament hold an average of around 50,000 people per match, there are still going to be plenty of tickets available to supporters.

FIFA have created four categories of tickets for the 2010 Finals, with an average ticket price of around $139. This is roughly the same as the average price for the 2006 Finals in Germany. The cheapest tickets (category 4) will be available for only $20, but will be exclusive to the South African public to give them an opportunity to experience the tournament. The maximum price will be $900 which will be the cost of a category 1 ticket to the 2010 World Cup Final. Although the price is excessive, if you can afford it then it is well worth paying because it will be a once in a lifetime experience.

The first chance to get your hands on tickets for the 2010 World Cup Finals will be in June 2008. However, these will be exclusive to the South African market, who will have priority to secure priceless 2010 World Cup final tickets, before the general public sale begins in September.

These will not be "normal" tickets though but rather "packages", which will include hospitality, travel and accommodation. MATCH Hospitality secured FIFA hospitality rights to the 2010 World Cup finals and will be responsible for all hospitality packages for the tournament finals. A standard packages will include a match ticket, hospitality services, parking, special access and entertainment. A full hospitality package could include accommodation, transport, tours and possibly flights.

Purchasing a hospitality package would be the perfect way to enjoy the World Cup Finals. However, if this is out with your budget you may prefer to purchase a standard match ticket for the finals. These tickets will go on sale in February 2009. FIFA will organize a public sale for these tickets. In keeping with previous tournaments, there will be a short window of opportunity to register your interest to purchase a 2010 World Cup ticket. A ballot will then be held with the lucky participants given a deadline to complete the purchase. "Rejected" tickets are then put into a second round of ballot.

Also for the first time since the 1998 World Cup in France tickets are also being distributed to worldwide travel companies so that they can arrange special travel packages.

Due to the short window FIFA allow to apply for tickets, it is vital that you are organized and know exactly when this window will open. We would recommend signing up for our email notification service, which will inform you when tickets are available to purchase. You should also read our 2010 World Cup Guide, which includes details on cities, stadiums and travel information - helping you pick out your preferred destination to maximize your experience.

Going to a major tournament is not just about the match you will see. It is about the whole experience - the atmosphere at the game and in and around the time, the experience of visiting a new city and experiencing the local culture at it's most vibrant and being part of such a major event which captures the imagination of the whole world. There's always another time for the normal holiday that you would go on - why not try something special and get yourself a ticket for the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa and enjoy the experience of a lifetime!

Beauties in World Cup 2010

When all the craziness of World Cup keeps going, our men, husbands and boyfriends stick like glue to their TV sets. Then, what should women do during this crazy and hot summer? Stay alone and weep? Of course not! Today, World Cup is not just the privileged crazy time for men, but also a big fashion show for women. Look at those female fans in the stadium; they make efforts to show their beauty and craziness to the public. Sexy bikinis, colorful paint, distinctive goggles, and printed tight underwear create beautiful and astounding scenery in the stadium, attracting both players and spectators.

These beautiful and sexy female fans and cheerleaders have become as important to the World Cup as soccer itself. To show their love for their teams and their beauty as well, they pay especially great attention to their underwear decoration.

The most common style of underwear is one with national flag on it. It clearly shows their love and support for the team. Similarly, some fans wear underwear printed with names or signs of their country. Another popular underwear style is one that featured with football shape and color.

The hot underwear brings their owners more than enough attention and praise. Female fans play a more remarkable role than male fans. They bring extra entertainment and delight for the World Cup and audience this summer. And I finally know why the World Cup always chooses warm weather as its play time. It's the best time for beauty show!

FIFA World Cup - A History 1962 to 2002

1962 Hosts for the 1962 edition were Chile despite recently having suffered a devastating earthquake. Brazil were favorites to retain the trophy but Chile thought they had a world-beating plan of action. Before they played Italy they ate spaghetti and won. Before they played Switzerland they ate Swiss cheese and won. Before they played Russia they drank vodka and won (must have been an interesting game). So when they came up against Brazil in the semi finals, what did they do? Did they eat Brazil nuts? No, they drank coffee and promptly lost 4-2. Brazil once again claimed the trophy by beating Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the final.

Statistics Host Country: Chile

Countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Czechoslovakia, England, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: Brazil 3, Czechoslovakia 1

Top goal scorer: Drazen Jerkovic, Yugoslavia (5)

1966 In 1966 the World Cup came back to where the modern game of football began in 1863, England and the trophy was destined to stay there for four years. It might have stayed there permanently because when it was put on show at the Westminster Central Hall in London four months before the tournament was to start it was stolen. Seven days of acute embarrassment ensued while authorities tried to find the missing cup without any result. Eventually a black and white dog called "Pickles" found it underneath a hedge wrapped in newspaper whilst doing what dogs do under hedges. Pickles shot to stardom and the English Football Association had a replica of the trophy made - "just in case". The replica can still be seen at the English National Football Museum.

The 1966 World Cup was memorable for several reasons. It was the first World Cup to have a mascot - "World Cup Willie", a lion dressed in the English strip. It was a World Cup marred by vicious tactics on the field and by poor refereeing that saw Brazil literally kicked off the pitch in the first round. The final against West Germany was also memorable due to one of the most controversial goals in Cup history. In extra time Geoff Hurst of England launched a shot that hit the underside of the goal crossbar and bounced down. The referee ruled that it had landed behind the goal-line and was therefore a goal. The West Germans protested that it did not go behind the line but the linesman upheld the referee and the goal stood. Hurst put the matter beyond doubt in the last minute by scoring.

Statistics Host Country: England

Countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, England, France, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, North Korea, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: England 4, West Germany 2 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Eusebio, Portugal (9)

1970 Mexico 1970 was Brazil's and Pele's World Cup. After 1966 when Brazil were knocked out in the first round, Pele had vowed never to play in the World Cup again. Fortunately he was persuaded to make a final appearance in 1970. Hopes were high in England for a repeat of the 1966 success but matters were not helped when the England captain was jailed for four days on manufactured charges of stealing a bracelet in Guadalajara a couple of weeks before the opening game. Those, the humid playing conditions and Gerd Muller in devastating form, were enough to see West Germany take their revenge in the quarter final for the defeat in the previous competition's final. But Brazil seemed unstoppable thanks to their magnificent attackers but their defense was questionable. Could the Italian front line turn this to their advantage? At half time it seemed that they could with the score line at 1-1 and the Brazilians obviously demoralized. But after half time Pele took charge laying on passes that led to two Brazilian goals and finding the net himself. Brazil had won the World Cup for the third time and therefore was allowed to keep the Jules Rimet Trophy permanently. Some year later it was stolen and never recovered. It is presumed it was melted down.

Statistics Host Country: Mexico

Countries: Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador, England, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Romania, Sweden, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: Brazil 4, Italy 1 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Gerd Muller, West Germany (10)

1974 In 1974, West Germany played hosts for the competition for the new trophy, the FIFA World Cup. West Germany had a tremendously strong side but then so did Holland with its brand of "total football" and Poland. Holland beat Brazil 2-0 to face West Germany in the final in Berlin but the German ultra efficient football machine held out against the inspirational Dutch to grab a late winner.

Statistics Host Country: West Germany

Countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, East Germany, Haiti, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, Sweden, Uruguay, West Germany, Yugoslavia, Zaire

Final: West Germany 2, Netherlands 1

Top goal scorer: Grzegorz Lato, Poland (7)

1978 1978 saw the FIFA World Cup being held in Argentina and it was one of the most controversial with very strange refereeing and organizational decisions seeming to favour the home country. In a second-round match Argentina needed to score at least four goals against Peru. It scored six and Peru were heavily criticized for giving the game away. In the final Argentina seemed to have an extra man in referee Sergio Gonella. His decisions were so blatantly pro Argentina that there were calls (particularly by the Dutch) for the match to be re-played in a neutral country - calls that fell on deaf ears.

Statistics Host Country: Argentina

Countries: Austria, Argentina, Brazil, France, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, West Germany

Final: Argentina 3, Netherlands 1 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Mario Kempes, Argentina (6)

1982 An expanded World Cup was launched in 1982 in Spain. Eight more teams participated bringing the total to 24. The idea was to allow the lesser footballing countries to enter the tournament. The idea was vindicated by impressive displays by Algeria and Cameroon. Italy proved to be unstoppable that year and defeated the strong West German side 3-1 in the final even after Antonio Cabrini of Italy became the first player to miss a penalty in a World Cup final.

Statistics Host Country: Spain

Countries: Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador, England, France, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Kuwait, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Peru, Poland, Scotland, Spain, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: Italy 3, West Germany 1

Top goal scorer: Paolo Rossi, Italy (6)

1986 Colombia had been chosen to host the 1986 World Cup but was unable to due to economic considerations so the venue was switched to Mexico despite strong efforts by Holland and the United States to have the competition on home soil. Brazil, the favorites were knocked out in the quarter finals by France on penalties. Another quarter final saw Argentina's Diego Maradona famous "hand of God" goal against England. Several billion TV viewers saw him use his hand to punch the ball into the back of the English goal but the referee did not. It was a blatant cheat that still rankles with English fans today as it saw their team go home. In the final against West Germany he showed that he didn't need to cheat to win as he brilliantly led his country to a hard fought win by 3 goals to 2.

Statistics Host Country: Mexico

Countries: Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Hungary, Iraq, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: Argentina 3, Germany 2

Top goal scorer: Gary Lineker, England (6)

1990 The 14th World Cup was without doubt the most boring so far. Every team was so scared of losing that games became low-scoring brutal chess matches. Both semi finals went into extra time and then went on to be decided by penalty kicks. The final contested by West Germany appearing in its last World cup before unification and Argentina. In a dour and dirty struggle with two sendings off. West Germany won 1-0 by way of a penalty.

Statistics Host Country: Italy

Countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, England, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, United States, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: West Germany 1, Argentina 0

Top goal scorer: Salvatore "Toto" Schillaci, Italy (6)

1994 FIFA saw the United States as an untapped market as far as football (or soccer as the Americans call it) was concerned and so decided to award the 1994 tournament to them. Italy were on song with their play-maker Roberto Baggio playing some sublime football. Argentina were hopeful that a newly re-called Maradona could steer them to success but the hope evaporated when he proved positive for a banned substance and was sent home in disgrace. The U.S. on home ground had a better than expected tournament finally going out to Brazil. Earlier they had beaten Colombia thanks to an own goal by Colombian Andres Escobar who was shot dead when he arrived back home. The final between Brazil and Italy was an absorbing game of Brazil's irresistible attacking force meeting Italy's immovable defensive force. Predictably the match ended 0-0 after extra time so it went to the penalties and sudden death. Roberto Baggio of Italy sent his kick high over the cross-bar and Brazil were the winners.

Statistics Host Country: United States

Countries: Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, Germany, Greece, South Korea, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, USA, Sweden, Switzerland

Final: Brazil 1, Italy 0 (3-2 on penalty kicks)

Top goal scorer (Joint): Oleg Salenko, Russia and Hristo Stoitchkov, Bulgaria (6) 1998 France, played host to an expanded World Cup with the number of participants brought up to 32. Nobody thought that France had a chance of winning and everyone was very surprised when the made it to the final. Amazement took the place of surprise when the managed to destroy Brazil 3-0 in the final. To this day nobody who isn't French can explain how they did it. Serious hooliganism reared its ugly head during the early stages of the tournament when English fans rampaged through Marseille and German fans attacked a police officer with an iron bar and left him permanently brain damaged.

Final: France 3, Brazil 0

Top goal scorer: Davor Suker, Croatia (6)

2002 For the first time the World Cup had co-hosts in Japan and South Korea. It was also the first to be held on the continent of Asia. Fears of major rioting due to hooligans proved unfounded due to the superb preparations by the co-hosts and the whole tournament had a party atmosphere. It was also a tournament of upsets. In 1998 the United States had finished last but in 2002 they sailed into the quarter finals before being knocked out by Germany. France, the holders were eliminated in the first round without scoring a single goal and Italy left the tournament early after some poor refereeing. In the end it was Brazil and Germany who contested the final with Brazil winning by two goals.

Thoughts on New Zealand vs Scotland - World Cup 2007

To be honest, the All Blacks were in a no win situation. They were playing a Scotland side that had elected to rest it's big name players in a match they were expected to win comfortably regardless of who the Scots put on the field. The game was still at a sold out Murraryfield ground, and the '2nd stringers' all knew this was their chance to push for a first team selection.

The All Blacks went on to do what you inevitably do in a no-win situation - they won. 40-0 is a convincing scoreline against a team that is ranked top 10 in the world. It's actually 4 points more than the scoreline from a week earlier when South Africa was said to have 'demolished' England - a team ranked only 3 higher than Scotland in the World. 6 tries to nothing is a convincing victory - and let's not forget than Aliens had taken over Dan Carters body. The REAL Dan Carter has never kicked 4 from 9 in his life. had he hit those kicks the scoreline would have gone up to 51-0.

The doom and gloom doesn't stem from the scoreline, but the game itself. The All Blacks made 20 handling errors - unheard of in recent times. And more alarming they made several critical judgment errors that cost tries. The back line was given a feast of possession from a forward pack that was destroying the scots, and they failed to convert it into a landslide of points.

For their parts the Scots looked every part a team that knew they could never win. They determinedly slowed down the game, collapsed scrums, threw the ball away and allowed every aspect of negativity possible to mark their play. This was a team with one objective - not to lose by too much.

And let's not forget the jerseys! There was a lot of confusion out there caused by both sides wearing nearly identical jerseys. Players had a moment of doubt when looking to the support because they had to look to the face, not the jersey to see what team the player was on. It's no coincidence the All Blacks normally polished finishing was impaired by the jersey confusion. Officials admit they wanted to change the jerseys at half time because they were affecting the match. I noticed twice penalties on the ground awarded to the wrong team - possibly due to not being able to discern who it actually was doing what.

I'm now going to take a brief diversion to my own playing days. I used to play for a club with an interesting makeup. Our forward pack was lethal, our back line was a liability with the ball(I was in the backs obviously). In my last season for this club we started the season with a couple of losses and then found our pattern. We beat every team from our third match threw to finals time, but never by more than 10-15 points. The team that beat us on week one went on to crush many of the other teams we played - breaking 100 points on three occasions. Happily enough we met them in the semi finals and beat them. By 12 points.

The moral of the story I guess is that a win is a win is a win is a win. Especially at the business end of the season. We are now at the business end of the season and it's time to stop seeking perfection and starting being happy with wins! Sure, we would love to see the All blacks blitz every team they play by 100 points, and we know that excluding South Africa, Australia, Argentina and perhaps France they are quite capable of doing so.

But ultimately if we drop every second pass in the world cup final but manage to win 3-0 with a miscued dropgoal in the ninth period of extra time - that's enough for me. I don't demand perfection of the All Blacks. I just want our cup to come home.

Tom Scott is a die hard supporter of the All Blacks and he looks forward to seeing New Zealand be the first team to retain a world cup in 2011.

Personal Brand Marketing With Affordable TV Advertising

Everyone in your Town Creek Subdivision knows you. You wave to them as you come home from work.

You've got lots of friends. One guy takes his new Remington rifle to hunt with you in the Fall. Another likes to come over to watch your favorite NFL team on your Magnavox 52" HD TV.

You and your wife attend the PTA meetings because of your kids. You see everyone at Deerfield Community Church on Sunday. You coach the Little League baseball team.

You know it's essential to meet lots of people to get ahead in your business, so you are a member of the Civitan Club and go to monthly luncheons. You meet clients for a cup of coffee at Starbucks to get better acquainted.

But are you personally branded in your hometown?

In the foregoing paragraphs are the branded names of Town Creek Subdivision, Remington, NFL, Magnavox, PTA, Deerfield Community Church, Little League, Civitan, and Starbucks.

These names are branded, but are you?

Do folks in your town know you, like these branded names?

How many people in town actually know you?

Are there 500 or 5000?

How much more income could you earn if you had the same branding as those branded businesses and institutions?

Corporate branding is essential to business.

Rolex is so branded, that you wouldn't think of buying a Rolex watch at a discount store. Or, a Rolls Royce.

"Coke" is so branded from over a century of marketing and advertising that even a picture of that little curve-shaped bottle without seeing the logo communicates the brand instantly!

Personal branding, like corporate branding, is also critically important to every professional, entrepreneur, and small business. But most don't know how to achieve it, or think the cost is prohibitive. Most of the self-employed have never dared to imagine that they too could become indelibly stamped in the public mind like the national brands.

Without a second thought of hesitation, we all know that television is the single most influential branding venue in the world. If you can be seen constantly on TV - either locally or nationally, you will become branded! TV branding is how any national icon is born!

But the restrictive, limiting factor in TV branding is the cost of TV marketing and advertising.

Gunthy-Renker raked in $1.5 Billion in sales last year creating TV infomercials at a cost of up to $425,000 each. The most successful of the infomercials who branded themselves on TV last year was the George Foreman Grill, that sold 65 million products.

The "cause-effect" of corporate branding is readily apparent.

Personal branding, or self-branding, also enjoys the same "cause-effect" relationship as corporate branding. Now, for the first time, personal branding, like corporate branding, can be effected with repetitive exposure on TV as inexpensive as the cost of a newspaper classified ad! Now with the assistance of the Internet, efficient use of TV branding can be combined with a web site for extremely inexpensive personal branding. "Triggered Markets," even niche markets, sparked with prime-time commercials and night-time TV airings can be linked to an Internet site that can "tell the story" necessary for self-branding. FCC-mandated "leased access" stations and "selective area" cable networks can brand your image and your service or product on TV for less than the cost of newspaper ad.

The most powerful venue ever available for branding - as with a "scorching red-hot branding iron" seared in the mind of public awareness - can now linked with the Internet to provide personal self-branding that was once only affordable to the corporate giant.

How to Make a Cup of Good Espresso Coffee

Espresso coffee is becoming one of the most popular types of beverage that people are drinking around the world. It is a blend of several different types of coffee beans from different countries. Many people believe that it translates as express because of the fact that in cafes it is traditionally brewed when a customer orders and is delivered straight to them. All over the world, the espresso coffee is synonymous with Italy and this is where the best coffee mixtures can be found and have been selected to celebrate the true flavor of the coffee.

Espresso, while apparently a simple drink, is in reality a complex product. Espresso or caffe espresso is a concentrated coffee brew brewed by forcing very hot, but not boiling, water under high pressure through coffee that has been ground to a consistency that is between extremely fine and powder. If you go to a cafe or espresso bar and ask for an espresso, what you will get is a shot-sized glass holding a small amount of very strong coffee.

Making Good Espresso

There are many requirements in making a good mug of espresso coffee. First, espresso uses a greater dose of coffee per water then drip coffee. To pull a shot of espresso, a metal filter-basket is filled with 7 to 10 grams of ground coffee for a single shot or 12 to 18 grams for a double shot. The temperature and time of consumption are important variables that must be observed to enjoy an ideal espresso, as it should be consumed within 2 minutes from when it is served. Freshly brewed coffee must be served or mixed into other coffee beverages immediately, or it will begin to degrade due to cooling and oxidation.

The end result should be a cup filled with two 1-1 ounce shots of espresso, topped with of crema. An espresso shot that is brewed in less than 25-seconds is under-extracted. It will appear watery, have little or no crema, and taste weak and bitter. Where on the other hand an espresso shot that is brewed in over 30 seconds is over-extracted.

Making the perfect cup of espresso coffee is a combination of both art and science. Traditionally machines can only be used to make coffee, but most modern espresso coffee machines can also be used to make espresso and cappuccino, as they have a separate spout for frothing milk. And with the consumption of espresso coffee expected to grow as consumption shifts from the coffee bar to the home and to the office, no doubt more and more people are getting coffee machines for themselves.

The reason for my interest is that when I am at home, I am able to make and drink espresso coffee with ease anytime I want. You too can try it, and savor the great pleasure of having a great cup of espresso coffee.

Say Aloha to a Hawaiian Luau Feast

It's time to celebrate summer with a summery Hawaiian luau! The luau is a traditional Hawaiian feast served with the crowning dish of roasted pig. Typically held outside to honor the warm weather, luaus not only are known for their food but also the outfits worn by those throwing the luau.

After deciding when to throw the Hawaiian luau party it's time to plan the menu. While roasting a pig may not be possible, there are many dishes suitable to be served at a luau. Try serving Macadamia nut crusted coconut shrimp, chicken long rice, macadamia nut cream pie and mai tais.

In order to make macadamia nut cream pie for your luau menu gather 1 1/3 cups milk, 3/4 cup sugar,
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts, Dash salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 egg, 5 teaspoons cornstarch, 2 egg whites, 1 9 inch baking pie shell, 1 cup heavy cream, sweetened and whipped, or use a container of real whipped cream in a can. Next combine 1 cup of the milk, 1/4 cup of the sugar, 1/4 cup of the nuts, the salt and the vanilla; and scald in a saucepan. Mix the remaining 1/3 cup milk with egg and cornstarch. Thoroughly stir some of hot mixture into egg mixture; return all to saucepan. Cook 5 more minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Cool 1 hour. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form then fold carefully into cooled mixture. Pour into pie shell and chill. Before serving top with sweetened whipped cream or can of whipped cream and remaining 1/4 cup nuts. Makes 8 servings.

While Aloha may have several meanings, Hawaiian luaus are always mean to celebrate life and this menu will make that happen.

Mesothelioma Healing News

There are so many horrible diseases in the world. We hear about something new every day. For those who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma though, it is especially terrible because the main source of this terrible cancer has been identified. Many who are diagnosed think back on, "what if", or "if only I would have", and the questions can just go on and on.

But what is important now are not those questions, but where do you go from here. There can be healing, especially in the spiritual realm. After 911, so many people turned to God. Why? Our nation was in a crisis. It seemed like the only place to go. With a disease like mesothelioma, it is also a wonderful place to go for peace and rest.

A most popular and comforting verse from the Holy Bible in the book of Psalms, Psalm 23 is this:

"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;

Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever."

Some may think that turning to God in a time of need shows weakness. Those who don't look outside of themselves will become even weaker.

Whether you are suffering from mesothelioma or any other type of cancer, this is something to seriously consider. All have physical bodies and those bodies are not going to last forever, but what if your soul does live on? Wouldn't you want to find a source of comfort from one who has suffered the ultimate pain?
