LIGA BBVA – Barcelona needs a come-from-behind victory

If things were not looking good for Barcelona on their visit to Sevilla, due to important absentees, things have not improved much since then. Now they are two goals behind and based on their performance during the second half of last game, changes need to be done if they are really looking forward to win their first title of the season. This time Joseph Guardiola will have the chance to prepare the game with all of his players, even though not all of them are in optimal conditions to dispute it.
During their visit to Sanchez Pizjuan, Barcelona was able to control the game in the first half, and was even able to take the lead after Ibrahimovic connected a crossing from Maxwell. Things were looking good for them. The experimental team made up from reserve players combined with experienced players was giving Barcelona the lead. That was until the fatigue attacked them on the second half, causing them to loose the possession of the ball and opening more spaces that were effectively taken advantage of by Sevilla and its strickers, Luis Fabiano and Frederic Kanouté.  
This Saturday Barcelona will play its first home game of the season, and it is looking forward to welcome its fans with a title. This game could also be the debut of striker David Villa with the team, who came from Valencia after a 40 million Euros deal. His numbers and present give the fans reasons to believe that "El Guaje" will have an excellent performance in the team. His adaptation process should be fast, as he already knows the Spanish league and some of his teammates from the National team. Goals are what he offers, and goals are what they need to overcome the 3 to 1 defeat.
Many newspapers are speculating with the possible inclusion of the FIFA World Cup champions in the starting line up, but Guardiola did want to make it clear that: "maybe some of them will play, but not all of them". He thinks that some of them are not physically fit yet and doesn't want to take the risk of exposing them to a possible injury. The coach is aware that the score is a little bit bulky and that they need to have a "good performance to defeat Sevilla".
Things change quickly in the world of sports. If last week Barcelona was being affected by the absence of its players due to international compromises with their national teams, now it is Sevilla's turn, as they have to face a game this Wednesday for the UEFA Champions League qualifying round against Sparta Braga. This match against the Portuguese squad gives them less time to prepare the game against Barcelona. The good news for them is that Luis Fabiano will stay in the club, despite the interest shown by Olympique de Marseille.

It seems like Barcelona is going to close the summer with only two new players: David Villa and Adriano. Coach Pep Guardiola doesn't want to pay the expensive prices in the market, and now that Fabregas made a public announcement about him continuing to play with Arsenal during this season, there is no other player that interests Guardiola. This is why he has taken the decision to look into the reserve players to strengthen the team. He said that unless there is a bargain they will not bring anyone in.
