ICC Cricket World Cup Schedule 2011

The ICC World Cup 2011 Schedule has been announced and the first scheduled match is between India and Bangladesh, which starts at 2 o'clock on February 19th, 2011. Good times are here for India and the country will be hosting the 10th Cricket Cup. Cricket is the country's most loved sport. The original schedule also included Pakistan as a co-hosting nation but was later deprived of its chances as seven players from Sri Lanka were injured in a terror attack, forcing the world cricket governing boards to strip Pakistan of co-hosting the world cup on April 17th, 2009.

The last world cup which was held in the Asian subcontinent took place in 1996. Sri Lanka won the trophy and was considered as the incomers into the select cricket playing nations.

India has been appointed to host 29 of the 49 ODI's to be played in the tournament including one of the two semifinals and the final in Mumbai. The final is to be held at the original Wankhede stadium. Sri Lanka is supposed to be hosting 12 matches while the first time hosts, Bangladesh, will be hosting 8 matches out of which the opener is to be held in Dhaka. The opening ceremony too will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 17th February. The Bangbandhu International cricket stadium has been refurbished especially for the tournament as Bangladesh prepares for its first international event.

In my opinion, the cup 2011 schedule is slightly tilted towards the strong cricket-playing nations, against the weaker Associate members but as the on-going warm-up matches are any indication, it is bound to be become a non-issue for all the teams. Just yesterday, Canada scared the English team with their power-hitting and all-round performance. They might just be the new Kenya in this edition of the cup.

The headquarters of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has been moved to Mumbai to ensure smooth working and timely preparations for the event. Mr. Rastnakar Shetty is the managing director of the event while the Security Director is Shashank Manohar of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The ICC avoided favoritism by rotating the venue for the Cricket World Cup. For the 2011 event, Australia/New Zealand had an advantage over the Subcontinent but the ICC decided in favor of the later as they had not hosted the Cup for a long time. 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule Released

The 2011 NASCAR sprint cup schedule has been released, and race fans across the nation and around the world will be thrilled to see some exciting new changes.

Perhaps the most exciting bit of news is that there will be a new track added to the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule.

Kentucky speedway is a one and a half mile tri oval with fourteen degree banked turns. It has a seat capacity of sixty six thousand. With its first event slated for the ninth of July, rest assured, the track will be hot loose and fast!

World Cup 2010 concert: Musical double bonanza for football fans, schedule and all details

OPENING DAY musical concert of World Cup 2010 is going to be the most watched concert of the world, and the person who is going to do song samba is Shakira. The FIFA World Cup opening ceremony is going to be musical double feature this week.

Top stars including Shakira will perform on Thursday and a secret performance just ahead of match on Friday. The concert will be broadcast live from the heart of the Johannesburg Soweto Township's 40,000 capacity Orlando Stadium at 1800 GMT.

Soccers fans from across the world have already booked their tickets to watch Shakira in opening concert of FIFA World Cup 2010 singing official song "Waka Waka" with South African pop group Freshlyground.
