FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa

The next edition will be years before the Word Cup to be held in South Africa in 2010. The qualifying round for the finals was recently completed. There are 32 nations, which last year competing in the next. South Africa as host country is the only automatic qualifiers for the final. Italy has a champion for all games of qualifying, but managed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup, after 10 grueling.Italy qualified as group winners from the European zone Group 8. The teams will take part in the event next year with 6 branches of FIFA.

Uruguay and New Zealand qualified by two legs intercontinental play-offs. They beat Costa Rica and Bahrain to be the last to earn the right to play. The fifth team from South America region faces the fourth team in North, Central America and the Caribbean. Meanwhile, the fifth team from AsiaRegion faces the winner from Oceania.
